Stargazing

The stars and I are intimate tonight.
Their lips of light press against my skin
while I glow with pleasure. Lying here,
breathing deeply, open to everything,
I think of the long, cold road the light came down
to be here with me tonight, caressing me in the darkness.
Just hours earlier I'd been steeped in sadness,
wrapping myself in layers of misery,
trapped in my mind and unable to rest.
Now, here, resting is all I can do,
lulled by hypnotic twinkles.
I feel the star's tingling glow
emerging from the vacuum of infinite space,
feel them pounding like enormous, shining hearts,
moving love through the Universe to me.
