Literature Text
Entering into Dreamspace,
I touched down in undiscovered country.
I started exploring, but soon became bewildered
as the landscape shifted – now towering forest,
now storm-covered grasslands, now arid desert,
now a ring of impenetrable mountains!
Faced by such impediments,
I wept and raged, feeling I might drown
in my own despair. Suddenly, the ocean rushed
in to engulf me, and I understood:
I was inside myself, treading a country
created of my own fantasies and fears.
Surrendering, I let the waves have me,
collapsing into their arms with all the trust of a child.
In that stillness, illusions vanished,
and I floated in the Pregnant Void,
where infinite possibilities await expression.
I imagined a future blossoming before me,
and I sprouted leaves, vines, flowers and fruit
from each pale pore, becoming a teeming jungle,
life erupting out of me as if each cell
within me were a seed seeking the sun.
Upon waking, I found a single rose
lying between my breasts,
shaking with each beat of my thrumming heart.
I touched down in undiscovered country.

I'm so pleased with this poem which is a lot longer than most of what I've written in the past.
